Thank you for choosing to get to know us a little bit better. This page offers a starting point, an initial glimpse into the personalities and people behind DSLRU, from the founders to our list of professors. We hope that you'll get to know us even better through our interactions on the forum, the blog, classes, and throughout DSLRU.
DSLRU was founded on the principle that everyone can improve their photography by learning from others. The art, science, and practice of photography is not an innate skill, but rather one that can be learned, and not only at $2599 "workshops" or via $79 books, but through specific instruction at a bite-sized cost.
Our mission is and always will be to deliver terrific content at a reasonable price. As our slogan says, "Knowledge Isn't Usually This Affordable."
iacas • Erik J. Barzeski
Though Erik's father played around a little with an SLR in the 80s and 90s, Erik's "film" days were limited to a pin-hole camera made up as a science experiment in sixth grade. All geek and thus all digital, Erik spends most of his time photographing his six-year-old step-daughter, which meshes nicely with his wife's scrapbooking hobby. Rather new to the field of photography, Erik identified a gaping hole in the area of photography instruction, and DSLRU is the result.

DSLRU's strength is our professors. Though not all are professional photographers, each brings a lot to the table and is an expert in their class topics. If you're a fan of a professor in particular, visit their profile to see which classes they teach or to send them a note.
